Prime Minister of Latvia Laimdota Straujuma talks on government priorities during the Business lunch with the Members of SCCL

Members of the SCCL and distinguished guests had an opportunity to participate in the Business Lunch with the new Prime Minister of Latvia Ms Laimdota Straujuma. Event was jointly organized by the Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Irish Chambers of Commerce in cooperation with DNB.  H.E. Ambassadors of Norway, Poland, Finland, Canada and Ireland were present during the lunch. The Prime Minister adressed the priorities of her Government, the legal system, education reforms, land reforms, Ukraine situation, EU funding and more.

H.E. Laimdota Straujuma. Ms Straujuma (Unity) is the first woman to become Prime Minister of Latvia. Her Government was approved by the Saeima on 22 January 2014. Previously, Ms Straujuma was Minister of Agriculture. She has also been State Secretary and Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development. Ms Straujuma holds a PhD in economics.
