It is often said that mutual trust benefits everyone – yourself, your friends, your business. But where do we find the magic key that opens people’s hearts and minds?... How do we pare down the multi-layered notion of trust into its components? What is the basis of the traditionally high level of trust in the Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden? And what should be done here in Latvia?
The report “Trust – the Nordic Gold”, recently published by the Nordic Council of Ministers, concerns trust or, more specifically, social trust.
The Nordic region is regarded as a world leader when it comes to social trust among its population. The extensive research literature in the field suggests that a high level of social trust is perhaps the most important resource for a society in both economic and other terms. Consequently, as the title of the report implies, trust can be regarded as a type of gold for the Nordic countries.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion and a Q&A session.
The event will be moderated by Ingus Berziņš, Editor-in-Chief, DELFI.
The event will be conducted in English.
