The annual Members Meeting will be held in two parts, the first one dedicated to the SCCL Membership issues and the second one is going to be opened to the public featuring the topic " Regional situation in politics and business".

PAULS RAUDSEPS (Latvia)

Pauls Raudseps is one of Latvia's leading journalists and commentators. He writes on a wide variety of topics, including politics, economics, international affairs, and history.  

Born in the United States, Mr. Raudseps received  a degree in Russian and Soviet Studies from Harvard University. In 1990 he moved to Latvia to work for the Popular Front, the organisation that led the fight for Latvian independence. He was one of the founders of Diena, which for many years was Latvia's leading daily newspaper. Having worked for almost 19 years at the newspaper as managing editor and editorial page editor, he left Diena in October, 2009, to help found the independent weekly news magazine "Ir", where he is both a commentator and chairman of the advisory board.

BERT SUNDSTRÖM (Sweden)

Bert Sundström's career spans over three decades as a seasoned journalist for Swedish Public Service TV (Sveriges Television, SVT). His work has taken him on journeys across Europe and the Americas, with significant stints in Washington DC, Brussels, Amman, and London. However, it is Moscow where he has spent the most time, totaling approximately nine years. Throughout this time, Bert has provided firsthand reporting from all former Soviet republics, with Ukraine being a focal point, especially during the turbulent times of conflict.

His experiences in conflict zones are noteworthy, having reported from the frontlines of wars in former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Chechnya, and Syria. Bert's coverage extends beyond mere reporting; it delves into the deeper context and underlying reasons behind events, particularly evident in his analysis of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict and the political intricacies surrounding it.

Notably, Bert's reporting transcends borders. He aims to shed light on the lives of individuals in distant locales, fostering understanding and empathy among his Swedish audience. His journalistic endeavours have taken him to Estonia, albeit briefly, while Latvia remains a destination he has visited intermittently. Before venturing into journalism Bert spent time teaching English in Buenos Aires.
